The Carmignano di Fattoria di Bacchereto - Terre a Mano is a wine with an artisanal face, which represents the long tradition of great blended reds from the Prato area. It is produced with an important base of Sangiovese and a balance of black Canaiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been present in the area's vineyards for centuries. Aging in large barrels allows the wine to acquire the right expressive harmony while retaining the fruity aromas of ripe grapes, enriched with vegetal nuances and elegant tertiary aromas. It is a straightforward and immediate red that transmits great balance and intense taste pleasure to the palate.
Carmignano wine comes from an ancient tradition of the Prato area of producing great reds with a blend of Sangiovese and Bordeaux vines. The Fattoria di Bacchereto - Terre a Mano is located in the hilly area south-west of Prato, where it manages a large estate of over 160 hectares, of which only 8 are planted with vineyards and the rest destined for olive groves, woods, orchards, chestnuts and meadows. The wild and uncontaminated environment has prompted us to embrace Biodynamics since 2002, with the desire to produce healthy wines in harmony with nature. Green manure is practiced between the rows and only sulfur and copper are used. In the cellar, vinifications are made with minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to retain their maximum expressive potential without too much enological interference.
The Carmignano from Fattoria di Bacchereto - Terre a Mano is a genuine and sincere Tuscan wine, which brings to the glass the philosophy of an unconventional and trendy winery, always attentive to the authenticity of the terroir. The grapes come from 20-year-old vines grown at about 250 meters above sea level on soils characterized by the presence of shale, sandstone and clays. The fermentation takes place in cement with natural yeasts and a maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. The wine rests for 12-18 months in 350 liter Allier oak barrels and is refined for a further 6 months in the bottle. In the glass it has a ruby red color. On the nose it gives aromas of cherry, small berries, vegetal notes, green pepper, hints of licorice, leather, blond tobacco and soft spices. The taste is intense, rich, with lively tannins and a fresh and very persistent finish.
